Oakville is a world-famous wine
growing region located in the heart of the Napa Valley. It gained
its name from the dense groves of dark green valley oaks that once
covered the area.
The excellent
publicity of Oakville’s wines can in part be attributed to the
unique quality of its soils and enviable climate. This perfect
climate, not too hot (in the summer) or cold (in winter), is what
helps Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville display the essential
qualities of this varietal – complex wines with great structure,
balance, and tannins that allow these wines to age for many years.
Today, the Oakville
appellation is one of the premier wine growing regions in the world;
even at only 2 acres wide, it’s a powerhouse. Some of the most
legendary wines are produced here; thanks in part to the
family-owned vineyards tended by meticulous growers and visionary
winemakers.

Aged in French Oak Barrels, the 2004 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
from the Napa Valley is ready to enjoy now, but will age beautifully
for the next 10 – 15 years.
Courtesan has a
bright, brambly raspberry nose and hits the palate with phenomenal
concentration that brilliantly manages to be neither heavy nor
overbearing; ripe cassis and dark cherry abound with hints of cocoa.
The finish is supple and round with good length and exquisitely
forged tannins. This is a wine with supreme definition and purity
that will seduce the palate like a beautiful courtesan.
